The YONEX Stringing Team is providing service as the official stringer during the Toray Pan Pacific Open. This year two new specialists with tremendous stringing experience at numerous international tournaments around the world have joined the YONEX team and will support players with their professional skills and extensive knowledge of racquet stringing. The new members of the YONEX Stringing Team are Mr. Mark Goodman and Mr. Kian Pin Lay. Mark has strung racquets at the Wimbledon Championships for the last three years (2010-2012) and Kian has strung at several Grand Slam tournaments and world-class events such as the Davis Cup.
With its expert staff, the YONEX String Team works hard to meet all player requests and demands for precision.
Two YONEX players, Angelique Kerber (VCORE Xi 100) and Ana Ivanovic (EZONE Ai 98), met in the third round of the Toray Pan Pacific Open on Wednesday, September 26.
No. 5 seed Angelique played with determination to overcome Ana’s versatile attacks. It was a close match, but the 25-year-old German outplayed her opponent by delivering superior serves, including 6 aces. “I think my serve was very good, and that was the key to winning this match. It was a very close match so I’m happy with my performance tonight,” Angelique said after securing a win with a 6-4, 6-2 score line.
In the quarterfinals on Thursday Angelique faces the 2011 champion, Agnieszka Radwanska, playing for an opportunity to retaliate for the semifinal match of last year.
