YONEX Players Reach 3rd Round with Overwhelming Victories

The crushing victories YONEX tennis players achieved today advances them into the third round of Roland Garros 2013.


Three YONEX women made their stand on the red clay courts yesterday during their second round matchs of the tournament. No. 14 seed Ana Ivanovic (EZONE Xi 98) faced and defeated opponent Mathilde Johansson with a series of solid serves. Winning 20 of 23 first serve points, Ana defeated the French player 6-2, 6-2 in just 58 minutes.


YONEX player Angelique Kerber (VCORE Xi 100), ranked in the world’s top eight, capitalized on break chances to overpower Jana Cepelova. Taking only one hour to complete the match, winning 6 of 7 break points on the way to a 6-2, 6-2 final score


YONEX VCORE player Sabine Lisicki (VCORE Tour 97, PTGSPN) had a superior offensive game which allowed her to win against Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor. After winning the first set 6-4, she boosted her offense to capture the next set without losing any games in just 19 minutes. Utilizing her powerful VCORE Tour racquet, Sabine blasted 32 winners during the match.


On the fifth day of the tournament, No. 12 seed Maria Kirilenko (EZONE Xi 98, PTGP125), who recorded a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Nina Bratchikova at the opener yesterday, faces Ashleigh Barty of Australia. Meanwhile, in men’s singles, No.9 seed Stanislas Wawrinka (VCORE Tour 97) meets Argentina’s Horacio Zeballos in the second round.
