YONEX tennis player Martina Hingis (EZONE Ai 100, PTGP125, SHT-PROLX) claimed her first crown since she came back to play WTA doubles tournaments last summer. Together with fellow YONEX player Sabine Lisicki (VCORE Tour 97, PTGSPN), Martina overcame the second seeded Russian pair, Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina. Sabine and Martina came from one set behind with a 4-6, 6-4, 10-5 score line in the final at the Sony Open Tennis tournament on Sunday.
Although it was the second time for Martina and Sabine to play a doubles tournament together, the YONEX pair showed powerful performances to defeat No.6 seeds Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Safarova and No.5 seeds Cara Black and Sania Mirza on the way to the final.
Now Martina has 38 WTA doubles titles in her career, and Sabine captured her third since she won Stuttgart in 2011 and 2013.
The two expressed their delight at this win which can be seen in these great photos on Facebook.
