Yonex Cup Crowns 2017 Champions in Palos Verdes, California

The Yonex Cup Tennis Championship concluded Sunday, April 23, in Palos Verdes, CA. Tournament Director Pedro Alipio at the Palos Verdes Tennis Club describes the 17th annual competition as a unique tournament because of the pristine location, and their efforts to make every competitor feel special.



The tournament attracted over 200 top-ranked players in the Open level from across California and the US, with prize money as much as $2,300 for the Men’s Singles Champion.

Henry Craig won Men’s Open Singles (6-1; 6-3), with Eric Johnson as the runner-up (VCORE Duel G 97 330g).

For Men’s Open Doubles, Andy Gerst (EZONE DR 98) and Jordan Bridge (VCORE Duel G 97) defeated runner Up - Rylan Rizza (VCORE Duel G 97) and Jack Pulliam (4-6; 6-3; 10-5)

Women’s Open Singles saw Megan McCray (VCORE XI 100 / PTG HS 125) best Kristina Smith (6-3; 6-2).
