The final match put them against Jamie Murray and John Peers, with Pierre taking center stage with strong serves and on-point returns. The pair saved all five break points faced, shooting off 30 winners en route. It was Pierre who hit the winning point for the match—a keen backhand volley, sending the ball flying between the British and Australian. Pierre earned his first ever Grand Slam title with a final score of 6-4 6-4.
Following up on her mixed and women’s doubles titles earlier this year at Wimbledon, Martina Hingis (EZONE Ai 100, POLYTOUR PRO 125) brilliantly secured this year’s US Open mixed and women’s doubles titles. Partnered with Leander Paes in mixed doubles, the two faced off against Americans Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Sam Querrey for the title. The pairs split the first two sets, leading to a tiebreaker which narrowly went in the direction of the Swiss-Indian pair at 6-4, 3-6, [10-7]. In women’s doubles, Martina and her partner Sania Mirza commanded in their final match against Casey Dellacqua and Yaroslava Shvedova. Martina sealed the match with a volley winner, the final score coming to 6-3 6-3.
This is Martina’s 20th career Grand Slam title across all disciplines, all of them achieved with YONEX support. “Thank you YONEX for your lifetime support. It's great to have my fifth title this year, and the second in women's doubles,” commented the Swiss. “These racquets always help me so much,” she continued, praising the host of racquets that have helped her earn many achievements.
The girls doubles tournament saw VCORE player Viktoria Kuzmova (VCORE Si 100, POLYTOUR PRO 125) and partner Aleksandra Pospelova win the title over Russian pair Anna Kalinskaya/Anastasia Potapova in straight sets at 7-5 6-2.
