TOKYO, Japan - Yonex’s WTA stars came together with fans, as well as legends and juniors, at the Yonex Tennis Festival 2023, which was held at Tokyo’s Ariake Tennis Forest Park.
Yonex ambassadors Elena Rybakina (KAZ), Anhelina Kalinina (UKR) and Linda Noskova (CZE) attended the festival the day before the start of this week’s Toray Pan Pacific Open, a WTA tournament with Yonex as the official ball supplier. The star athletes held an open practice session and participated in a doubles exhibition match against Japan’s top junior players, who left an impression on the crowd with the quality of their tennis. Fans also had the opportunity to interact with the professional players at clinics and participate in the service return challenges.
As part of this celebration of tennis, that captured the fun and the excitement of the sport and brought together everyone, the Yonex Tennis Festival 2023 gave fans the opportunity to try the latest Yonex PERCEPT racquets. The Yonex Stringing Team was on hand to offer fans the chance to have their racquets restrung.
One of the highlights of the Yonex Tennis Festival was a mixed doubles event at the Ariake Coliseum that featured legends Martina Navratilova, Kimiko Date and Shingo Kunieda, as well as teenage wheelchair star and Yonex ambassador Tokito Oda. The high level of tennis from the players – including Navratilova and Date’s exquisite touch at the net and Kuneida and Oda’s powerful play – entertained almost 5,500 fans inside the Ariake Coliseum, reminding the crowd of why they love this sport.
