Toray Stars Share #TeamYonex Stories in Japan

Tachikawa, Japan – Six 2018 Toray Pan Pacific Open tennis stars sweeping through Tokyo over the weekend sat down with WOWOW’s famed commentator, Florent Dabadie at LaLaport Tachikawa Tachihi for an evening of light tennis talk.

Coco Vandeweghe (USA) and Daria Gavrilova (AUS) began the evening by reflecting on their careers after switching to the EZONE. Vandeweghe’s coach, Pat Cash chimed in about watching her win the 2018 US Open Women’s Doubles Championship. "I almost had a heart attack three times while watching that exciting match," said Cash.

When asked about her experiences in Japan, Gavrilova nervously admitted in a lighthearted moment, "I love ramen so much I ended up eating at midnight last year. "

The second half brought Caroline Garcia (FRA), Nao Hibino (JPN), Donna Vekic (CRO), and Eugenie Bouchard (CAN) to the stage to speak about the new VCORE racquets. Garcia, excited about her career-high, world No. 4 ranking, opened up about her racquet.

“It gives me the necessary power and spin to my dynamic tennis style," said Garcia. "I can also feel confident while playing." When asked to demonstrate her signature 'Fly with Caro' pose on stage, she politely replied, "Please watch when I win my next match.”
