The 2017 BNP Paribas Open is underway. Since 2000, the event has been held at Indian Wells, in the sunny Coachella Valley. This year welcomes more than twenty Yonex athletes competing at the high-profile tennis event. Amongst the competitors are three-time Grand Slam winner Stan Wawrinka, two-time Grand Slam winner Angelique Kerber (VCORE SV 100, POLYTOUR FIRE 120), 2016 Ricoh Open champion CoCo Vandeweghe (EZONE DR 98) and the 2016 Aegon International champion Steve Johnson (VCORE SV 98). Younger players such as Naomi Osaka (EZONE DR 98, POLYTOUR PRO 125/REXIS 130), Yanina Wickmayer (VCORE SV 100) and Frances Tiafoe (VCORE Duel G 97) are also vying for the title.

Angelique Kerber has Made it Again

With the withdrawal of the current No. 1 Serena Williams from both the BNP Paribas Open and Miami Open due to a knee injury, No. 2 seed Kerber will return to the top of the WTA World ranking on Monday, March 20. The 2016 US Open Champion will keep the title at least until April 2, achieving a total of 22 weeks at No. 1.
