Super Serve Speeds at the 2015 Australian Open

The Australian Open saw members of Team YONEX exhibit remarkable performances as 2015 gets underway, with Stan Wawrinka (VCORE Tour GSHT-PRO) progressing to the semifinals, Pierre-Hugues Herbert (VCORE Tour G, YONEX String) reaching the men’s doubles final, and Martina Hingis (EZONE Ai 100POLYTOUR PRO 125, SHT-PRO) winning the mixed doubles title. Outside of these fine results, YONEX players impressed in other areas as well.



Several rankings were released after the Aussie Open came to a close, with VCORE users Stan Wawrinka and Go Soeda (VCORE Tour G, POLYTOUR SPIN) ranking within the Top 10 in serve speed. Stan comes in at 8th place with a 224 km/h serve, and Go is at 10th with a 222 km/h serve. Last year, another member of Team VCORE, Sabine Lisicki (POLYTOUR SPIN), broke the record for fastest serve with her VCORE Tour 97, hitting a serve that clocked in at 210.8 km/h. Amongst other rankings at the event, quarterfinalist Nick Kyrgios (EZONE Ai 98POLYTOUR PRO 120) ranked No. 2 among number of aces scored at 106, and Stan came in at No. 3 in break points won, winning 25 across the tournament.
