YONEX is pleased to announce a sponsorship agreement with ATP Tour top players Stanislas Wawrinka (SWI) and Bernard Tomic (AUS).
Wawrinka is 26 years old who have won 3 ATP Tour tournament in his career. His single-handed powerful backhand enables him into another achievement in this year. YONEX signed Wawrinka to a full contract including racquets, apparel, shoes and bag.
Tomic is 19 years old from Australia. In 2011, he reached his career high #42 in the world ranking (November 7th, 2011). He won the qualifying tournament of Wimbledon and advanced to the quarterfinals in the main draw by defeating some seeded players en route. Currently, he is a youngest player in the world top 50 and one of a promised player to be a world number 1 in the future.
Wawrinka and Tomic will use VCORE 98D, which provides both spin and power and is suited for middle grade and advanced player. Not only world #1 women’s tennis player Caroline Wozniacki, but also Juan Monaco, Go Soeda and other players started to use VCORE series in 2011.
