2 YONEX players David Nalbandian (VCORE Tour 97) and Lleyton Hewitt (VCORE Tour 97) became the finalist last week. David competed at Brazil Open in Sao Paulo, and Lleyton entered SAP Open in San Jose, the US.
In the singles of Brazil Open, David faced No. 2 seed Nicolas Almagro at the quarterfinal match, and defeated the world No. 11 Spaniard by 7-6(5) 3-6 7-6(3). From this tournament, David started using VCORE Tour 97, and his new choice effected a good result to reach the final.
With the fellow Australian Marinko Matosevic, Lleyton won a big victory at the SAP Open doubles quarterfinals against No. 1 seeds Bob and Mike Bryan, who claimed the 2013 Australian Open doubles title, by 6-4 6-7(4) 10-7. Also in the semifinals, the Australian pair defeated Mikhail Elgin / Denis Istomin, who overcame No. 3 seeds Santiago Gonzalez / Scott Lipsky, by 6-7(7) 7-6(2) 10-5. Lleyton and his partner showed spirited play throughout the tournament to advance to the final after winning 3 full sets.
Throughout SAP Open Lleyton played at, YONEX TOUR BALL has been used as the official tennis ball.
