Excellent Performances from YONEX Junior Players

June 3rd, 2014—day 10 of Roland Garros—proved to be an excellent one for YONEX’s junior players. First up, the 17-year-old from Spain, Jaume Antoni Munar Clar (EZONE Ai 100PTGP125), snagged not one, but two victories in both singles and doubles. Facing off against Slovakia’s Martin Blasko, Jaume took the first set by a comfortable margin. The match came down to the wire in the second set with Jaume defeating his opponent, converting four of six break points, and landing two aces. The final score was 6-3 7-5. In doubles Jaume, along with his partner Pedro Martinez Portero, took on Boris Pokotilov and Nino Serdarusic. The two took the match with decent leads in both sets, converting four of eight break points, with the final score coming to 6-3 6-4. Jaume will meet the USA’s Michael Mmoh in the boys’ singles third round, and will face Stefan Kozlov and Andrey Rublev in the boys’ doubles.

In girls’ singles, another young YONEX rising star, Rebecca Sramkova (VCORE Xi 98, PTGSPN) advanced through to the quarterfinals after defeating Margot Yerolymos. Rebecca took the first set by a large margin, and won the second with a comfortable lead. The young Slovakian tennis player managed to make seven break points, taking the match at 6-1 6-4. She will face the Czech Republic’s Marketa Vondrousova in the quarterfinal.

Rebecca is not only having success on the court, but her POLYTOUR SPIN racquet strings also received the gold prize in a performance test from French tennis magazine tennisaddict. The POLYTOUR SPIN was praised for its ability to mix power, control and spin, while remaining balanced. Additionally it was highly ranked for its ability to maintain tension for over ten hours. Both Rebecca’s and Jaume’s racquets are fitted with YONEX strings. Jaume’s POLYTOUR PRO 125 strings are softer, allowing better hold and control on the ball.  This makes it perfect for players who want that extra degree of accuracy in their hard hits.
