Denmark and Japan Win Bronze Medals

The whole matches of the Thomas Cup and the Uber Cup Finals were over on Sunday, May 27th. China won a championship in both tournaments.


In the semifinals of the Thomas Cup on Friday, May 25th, Denmark faced Korea. After the first singles match, Mathias Boe(AT900P) and Carsten Mogensen(VTZF) showed great performances against Yeon Seong Yoo and Sung Hyun Ko. The Danish pair earned 29 smash winners, which was 20 more times than the Korean pair did. It took just 34 minutes to defeat the Korean pair by 21-10, 21-12.
In the other doubles match, Joachim Fischer Nielsen(VT80) and Jonas Rasmussen had a match against Yong Dae Lee and Sa Rang Kim. The Danish pair lost the match, however, they showed their abilities, by earning 21 smash winners which were 2 more times than the Korean pair did. Finally, Korea defeated Denmark by 3-1.


In the other semifinal, China won the match against Japan by 3-0. As a result Denmark and Japan received a bronze medal.
