Back-to-Back Doubles Titles for Pierre-Hugues Herbert

“It's a dream come true for us to be playing at this level of doubles,” commented Frenchman Pierre-Hugues Herbert (VCORE Duel G 97POLYTOUR FIRE 125) after winning the Miami Open men’s doubles title with partner Nicolas Mahut. Coming off of their victory at the BNP Paribas Open, the duo has won 10 straight matches on U.S. soil.

Pierre-Hugues has five doubles titles under his belt, earning recent victories with the VCORE Duel G and POLYTOUR FIRE string. The latest addition to the VCORE series, the Duel G puts increased spin on the ball with staggering speed and power. The Frenchman’s hard-hitting game is also complimented by POLYTOUR FIRE strings to bring out even more ferocious spin.

The duo’s final match against Rajeev Ram and Raven Klaasen was characterized by huge serves that netted the French pair six aces on their way to victory. Pierre-Hugues and Nicolas powered back from a set down to win the title, the final score coming to 5-7, 6-1, 10-7. Their ticket to the final was secured when they knocked out defending champions Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. With this title, Pierre-Hugues finds himself in the ATP doubles Top 10 for the first time, achieving a ranking of World No. 6.

Nick Kyrgios (EZONE DR 98POLYTOUR PRO 120) also made strides at the tournament armed with the EZONE DR. In his first appearance at the Miami Open, the Canberra native reached the semifinals, his performance bringing him up to the World No. 20 spot for the very first time. He met up with heavy-hitting Canadian Milos Raonic in the quarterfinal, scoring eight aces en route to a 6-4, 7-6(4) win. Nick was the only player to break Raonic throughout the entire tournament, and saved all five breakpoints faced.

Impressive results like these promise more on the horizon, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more good news from Team VCORE and Team EZONE.
