Australian Open 2016: Team YONEX Advances into Third Round

Stan Wawrinka (VCORE Duel G 97, POWER CUSHION ECLIPSION) continued his strong 2016 Australian Open campaign, defeating Czech Radek Stepanek in straight sets with cool and confident composure. The Stanimal fired off a devastating 15 aces and 43 winners to solidly advance to round three with a final score of 6-2, 6-3, 6-4. Stan the Man has now advanced to the third round of the Australian Open for eight years straight.



Naomi Osaka (EZONE DR 98, POLYTOUR PRO 125) also exhibited cool and confident composure in women’s singles, dismantling No. 18 seed Elina Svitolina in straight sets. Her huge serve and 27 winners would lead the Japanese-American to a straight 6-4, 6-4 victory within 100 minutes.

Women’s singles also had Ana Ivanovic (EZONE DR 98) move into the next round, dominating over Latvian Anastasija Sevastova (YONEX Racquet, YONEX Shoes, POLYTOUR PRO 125). The Serb’s trademark forehand and 83% win-rate on first serves brought her to a straight 6-3, 6-3 victory.
