METZ, France – Top-seeded Hubert Hurkacz (POL) swept the singles and doubles crown at the Moselle Open in Metz without dropping a set.
“I am feeling pretty good,” Hurkacz said. “I am very happy that I was able to win the singles and of course, doubles [with countryman Jan Zielinski]. That is super great. You always come to the tournament and believe you can win it, but most of the time you lose. So, when you eventually win, it is great.”
It was Hurkacz’s third title in 2021 after capturing two tournaments in Florida, with the biggest win being the Miami Open, a Masters 1000 event.
With his victory in France, Hurkacz moves to World No. 12 but is now eighth in the 2021 ATP Race to Turin.
