2017 Aegon Open Nottingham

WTA Aegon Open Nottingham (June 10th-18th. UK)

20-year-old Yonex player Donna Vekic took home her second WTA title after overcoming World No. 8 and home favorite Joanna Konta. The British led the match, but the young Croatian fought back fiercely and downed her opponent in three sets, rising up to No. 58 in the rankings.

"It's pretty amazing and I'm really, really happy", she said on her victory. "I was trying to focus on myself, serve as good as I can and be aggressive”. Donna defeated a top 10 player for the second time armed with her VCORE SV, the racquet of choice of players like WTA No. 1 Angelique Kerber, 2017 US Men's Clay Court Championship winner Steve Johnson, 2017 Roland Garros quarterfinalist Caroline Garcia, and 2017 Drummondville Challenger champion Denis Shapovalov, a promising NextGen Canadian who joined Team Yonex earlier this June.

Donna will compete in Birmingham's Aegon Classicc next week, before playing at Wimbledon.
