19-year-old Yastremska Raises Third Career Title in Strasbourg

STRASBOURG, France — In the longest final of this season, a packed crowd gathered to witness Dayana Yastremska (UKR) defeat Caroline Garcia (FRA) in a 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 (3) at the Internationaux de Strasbourg championship. The win marks the young Ukrainian’s third career WTA title, second this year, and first clay court title.

Yastremska’s first win came at the Hong Kong Open last October, and her second soon followed in February of this year. The fiercely competitive 19-year-old moved up in rankings to a career high World No. 32* following her Strasbourg win.

Most viewers credit Yastremska’s nerves of steel to her close victory over Garcia. "I tried my best, I did work hard... I had to stay very focused, and be calm." She explained to the media following the match.

The Ukrainian’s career seems to be taking flight and all eyes will continue to be on her at her next tournament appearance.

Within the same tournament #TeamYonex was very active, dominating the quarterfinals and filling six of the top eight spots.
