Thailand Takes to the Podium
The World No. 11 mixed doubles pair of Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai boasted great performance at this year’s tournament, defeating World No. 1 Chinese pair of Zheng Siwei and Chen Qingchen in the semifinal. The Thai pair defeated the 2016 BWF Dubai World Superseries Finals champions after an extended match that concluded with a final score of 21-19, 13-21, 21-19. Playing with the DUORA 10, 19-year-old Dechapol was positive after winning is first Grand Prix Gold title: “Our next goal is to win our first Superseries title!” he spoke after the duo’s win.
