The young Dane excelled in the opener, grabbing nine consecutive points mid-game, moving on to seal it. The second game saw seasoned badminton vet Chong Wei start to reveal his true power, dazzling audiences with his instantaneous reactions, adept navigation of the court and remarkable smashes. Gaining momentum in game 2 and commanding in the third, Chong Wei moved into the quarterfinals with a final score of 12-21 21-17 21-14.
Chou Tien Chen (VOLTRIC Z-FORCE, SHB02LTD) continued his title defense, triumphing in a see-saw outing with Hong Kong’s Wing Ki Vincent Wong. Despite being led by seven points in the first game, the Taiwanese No.1 expertly earned nine consecutive points to edge out a win in the opener.
