Lee Chong Wei (VTZF2, SHB01LTD) continued his emphatic form to reach the YONEX All England Open Championships Final.
Chong Wei faced Korean Son Wan Ho in today’s semifinal. Wan Ho’s aggressive and sharp attacks were too strong for Chong Wei as the Korean took Game 1 21-14.
Wan Ho continued to pressure Chong Wei in the early stages of Game 2. After being behind for much of the game, Chong Wei came out fighting and began hitting the shuttle with greater precision moving his opponent around the court forcing Wan Ho into errors. Chong Wei took Game 2 21-19.
Wan Ho raced into a 5-1 lead in the deciding game. Chong Wei quickly overturned the deficit with a solid demonstration of powerful smashes. Using his new weapon, the VOLTRIC Z-FORCE Ⅱ racquet the World No. 1 delivered repeated winning hits to put his opponent at a disadvantage. Chong Wei continued to control the rally and raced into an unassailable lead, winning 14-21, 21-19, 21-15, to set up an All England Final rematch with Chen Long of China.
World No. 1 pairing Mohammad Ahsan (ARC-FB, SHB87LTD) and Hendra Setiawan (NR800, SHBF1NLTD) were almost unplayable in their semi final with fellow Indonesians Gideon Markus Fernaldi and Markis Kido.
Ahsan and Setiawan displayed destructive badminton as they dominated their opponents with unstoppable net play and quick driving shots. The duo dismissed their opponents with consummate ease 21-7, 21-12 to set up a final with Japanese World No. 2 pair Hiroyuki Endo (VTZF2) and Kenichi Hayakawa.
YONEX is proud to be represented on finals day as our ambassadors take to the court with VOLTRIC power, ARCSABER control and NANORAY speed. We wish all players good luck and hope to see a YONEX champion crowned tomorrow.
