DUORA Players Impress in Birmingham
Team DUORA continued its advance at the 2017 Yonex All England Open, with Lee Chong Wei (DUORA 10, POWER CUSHION 03 Z MEN), Viktor Axelsen (DUORA Z-STRIKE, POWER CUSHION 65) and Pusarla V. Sindhu (DUORA Z-STRIKE, Yonex Shoes) all breaking through to the quarterfinals.
Chong Wei earned a straight 21-18 21-18 win over Tzu Wei Wang. While the score remained close, Chong Wei was not led once in the opening game. Game 2 opened with a spirited start on the part of Wei Wang, but the Malaysian’s skillful command over rallies with the DUORA 10 proved too much for his younger opponent.
Viktor and Pusarla continued to exhibit great form with their new DUORA Z-STRIKE racquets, both picking up straight wins against their opponents. Viktor beat Chinese Zhao Junpeng 21-10 21-11, while Pusarla defeated Indonesia’s Dinar Dyah Ayustine (NANORAY 900, Yonex Shoes) with an astounding final score of 21-12 21-4. Pusarla sealed victory with a quick but powerful drive over the net.
Winning with VOLTRIC
Team VOLTRIC also continued to impress at this year’s Yonex All England Open, seeing Ratchanok Intanon (VOLTRIC 70 E-tune, POWER CUSHION AERUS 2 LADIES) and the husband-and-wife mixed doubles pair of Chris Adcock (VOLTRIC Z-FORCE II, POWER CUSHION AERUS 2 MENS) and Gabrielle Adcock (VOLTRIC Z-FORCE II, POWER CUSHION AERUS 2 LADIES) move into the quarterfinals.
Ratchanok overwhelmed opponent Hsu Ya Ching with a succession of powerful shots by way of her VOLTRIC 70 E-tune. The Thai forced Ya Ching into several errors, winning 21-14 21-15. No. 7 seeds Chris and Gabrielle Adcock succeeded against the Chinese pair of Yu Chen and Du Yue to advance into the quarterfinal, 21-17 21-12.
