TOKYO, Japan – The Legends’ Vision is preparing to launch a never-before-seen badminton format aimed at creating a team and community feeling that is recently lacking in badminton due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Spearheaded by Legends, Peter Gade, Lee Chong Wei, Taufik Hidayat, Lin Dan, and Lee Yong Dae, the MIX & MATCH Badminton Challenge employs a new “flight” system which allows a team of 6 players to switch freely between points. The first event will kick off in Japan on November 29th with Kento Momota, Akane Yamaguchi, Arisa Higashino, Takeshi Kamura, and many other top national players.
The event will take place in 8 locations around the world. Each location will have two captains who will draft their teammates from a pool of current and past national team players, top juniors, and more. Both the drafting and event will be live broadcasted on Yonex YouTube and Yonex Badminton Facebook channels.
