Malaysian Players Advance to the Hong Kong Open Finals

The world No.1 player Lee Chong Wei (VTZF) and Malaysian men’s doubles aces Koo Kien Keat (VTZFLTD) / Tan Boon Heong (VTZFLTD) advanced to the finals of YONEX-SUNRISE Hong Kong Open Superseries which was held from November 20th to 25th, and the Malaysian players finished the tournament as runners-up.


No.1 seed Chong Wei played solidly as usual in the men’s singles enough to progress to the final with winning each match in straight sets. He took 34 minutes to win the quarterfinal match against No.8 seed Vietnamese Tien Minh Nguyen by 21-18 21-19, then Chong Wei overcame the World No.7 Japanese Kenichi Tago (ARCZS) with 18 smash winners in the semifinals, by 21-19 21-15. The 2009 and 2010’s champion of the tournament have more experience and showed stable performance against opponents to win with his gear VOLTRIC Z-FORCE.


Koo and Tan seeded as No.1 in the men’s doubles of the tournament, and they overwhelmed opponents with their great offensive abilities. In the semifinals, the Malaysian pair faced Sheng Mu Lee / Chia Hsin Tsai of Korea. After the close first set, Koo and Tan earned 8 smash winners to take an initiative in the second set. Attacking with VOLTRIC Z-FORCE LTD, they got a big lead to clinch the match by 22-20 21-13. The world No.2 Koo and Tan played aggressively enough to prove their skills at the Superseries tournament.
