The champion of the 2010 World Junior Championships, Viktor Axelsen (VT80) advanced to the final two years in a row and won the runner-up of the championships. After the game, he commented on his facebook page, “I lost the final today 19-21 in the decider. The game was up and down, with a lot of mistakes.. But in the end, my opponent was more cleaver than I was. I never really felt that I found my highest level, and I am very disappointed at the moment. But that is life, and I have to learn from that, even though it is tough at the moment."
In the men’s doubles, Malaysians Nelson Wei Keat Heg (AT900-P) and Ee Yi Teo (AT900-P) won their first title of the championships. They advanced to the final last year and finally won the gold medal.
In the mixed doubles, it was an all-Indonesian affair with seeded pair, Alfian Eko Prasetya (VT80) and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja (ARC9FL) winning a close game, 12-21, 21-17 and 25-23.
