Former World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei Returns to Competition

Former world No. 1 Malaysian player, Lee Chong Wei has received a backdated eight-month sanction for an anti-doping regulation violation, according to an announcement by the BWF on Monday, April 27th. The decision reached will allow the Malaysian athlete to return to competition on Friday, May 1st.



The BWF Doping Hearing Panel found that Chong Wei had no intention to cheat, and that the athlete was not aware that he had ingested a specified substance although he had been negligent.
