Denmark Passes Round Robin

It's the third day of the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals on Tuesday, May 22nd. In the Thomas Cup, led by Peter Gade(VT80), Denmark won after a tough meeting against Malaysia.

At the first match between Gade and Lee Chong Wei(VTZF), there was an accident that Lee retired due to his ankle's injury. It was shocking for Malaysia, however, they achieved hard-won victories in the other two singles matches by Liew Daren and Hashim Muhammad Hafiz.
In the doubles, former world No. 1 Mathias Boe(AT900-P) and Carsten Mogensen(VTZF) faced off against Tan Boon Heong(VTZF) and Hoon Thien How. After a long 68-minute match, Danish pair finally defeated powerful Malaysian pair by 21-17, 21-23, 21-11.

In the Uber Cup, Japan had a nail-biting match against Denmark. World No. 5 pair Christinna Pedersen(VTZF) and Kamilla Rytter Juhl(ARC10) defeated Mizuki Fujii(VT70) and Reika Kakiiwa(AT900-T). They showed the striking ability to earn 18 smash winners which were twice as much as Japanese pair.

Today, the quarterfinals will start. Japan will have a match against Indonesia in both the Thomas Cup and the Uber Cup.
