Badminton World Championships coming to Spain

HUELVA, Spain – The highest-ranking athletes from around the world gather for the last time this year for the TOTALENERGIES BWF World Championships 2021. This prestigious tournament will be held at the Placio de los Deportes Carolina Marin in Huelva, Spain from December 12th to December 19th.

After an extended break from courts and then jumping right back in with a busy tournament schedule, new faces are emerging victorious and showing the world who the rising generation is. A few of these faces include Kunlavut Vitidsarn (THA), winner of the Eddy Choong Most Promising Player of the Year 2020/2021. Lakshya Sen (IND), a junior from India whose world ranking soared from 108 in 2019 to a current 19 and Line Christophersen (DEN) who recently brought home gold at the 2021 Denmark Masters. These young promising athletes are sure to put on impressive performances at the 2021 World Championships.

More than just new faces willing be popping up in Spain. The NANOFLARE 700, used by multiple top athletes including, women’s singles world No. 8 Ratchanok Intanon (THA) and men’s doubles Olympic Gold Medalist Wang Chi-Lin (TPE) will be sporting two brand new designs. The new NANOFLARE 700 designs, inspired by coursing soundwaves, include hues of dazzling Magenta and brilliant Cyan. The fan favorite POWER CUSHION 65 Z, which made its debut on courts at the 2021 Sudirman Cup in Finland, has a fast-approaching launch date of January 21st. A hand full of top athletes will be sporting the new model at the 2021 World Championships including mixed doubles world No. 1 pair Sapsiree Taerattanachai (THA) / Dechapol Puavaranukroh (THA) and men’s singles YONEX All England Open Champion Lee Zii Jia (MAS).
