In the Yonex-equipment sponsored Superseries tournament, Indian Srikanth Kidambi defeated Chinese player Chen Long in Men's Singles and grabbed top place for a second consecutive week following last week’s Indonesian Open win. The Japanese celebrated with “It’s Japan’s Day” according to the BWF Site, with No. 1 Ayaka Takahashi/Misaki Matsutomo besting No. 2 pair, Christinna Pedersen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl in Women’s Doubles, and Keigo Sonoda/Takeshi Kamura collecting straight wins for all games. Nozomi Okuhara also fought past fellow countrywoman Akane Yamaguchi in an all Japanese Women’s Singles final.
