In the Yonex-equipment sponsored Superseries tournament, Indian Srikanth Kidambi defeated Chinese player Chen Long in Men's Singles and grabbed top place for a second consecutive week following last week’s Indonesian Open win. The Japanese celebrated with “It’s Japan’s Day” according to the BWF Site, with No. 1 Ayaka Takahashi/Misaki Matsutomo besting No. 2 pair, Christinna Pedersen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl in Women’s Doubles, and Keigo Sonoda/Takeshi Kamura collecting straight wins for all games. Nozomi Okuhara also fought past fellow countrywoman Akane Yamaguchi in an all Japanese Women’s Singles final. The Total BWF World Championships is coming to Scotland from August 21st; let’s see how these champions fare in the next stage.
